An Update..

I feel like all I do in my blog posts is apologise for not writing enough! I haven't posted a blog since March so I felt like I would update you all before I began writing weekly posts again! It's now nearing the end of May and I've finally finished my second year of uni and have a full Summer ahead of me. So since I last posted I have had some great nights out with my best friends in Sheffield and Manchester, I started working again! I got a spray tan for the first time since prom and I went on HOLIDAY! (a post dedicated entirely to this will be posted shortly)! And to top all of this off I got my first car.

I went on the Royal Caribbean ship Ovation of the Seas for a week, it visited France and Spain.

And celebrated my friends 20th birthday in Manchester!

And finally I got my first car!

A lot of my photos are taken from Snapchat, and my username is chelseaowenxx. I will be doing weekly posts from now on so look out for more beauty reviews! If there is anything you would like to see just leave me a comment below.

MAYBELLINE IT LOOKS/// RED SIREN

I'm writing this post about an amazing kit that I picked up from Superdrug. This kit includes some of Maybelline's best products and retails at £30! It is an absolute bargain for the amount of product that it includes. The RRP of the items must in total be well over £50 at least. They do several different kits but I decided to choose the 'Red Siren' kit as it had the contour kit and the Nudes eyeshadow palette that I've been wanting for a while.

The kit included the Nudes eyeshadow palette, the Lash Sensational- which is by the way amazing! The matte lipstick in shade 'Divine Wine', the master precise eye liner and eyebrow pencil and finally the Master Sculpt contour kit. This is such good value for money and I would 100% recommend! You can find the kits HERE! Feel free to leave any comments.

FEBRUARY BIRCHBOX 2016

I had a 50% code for Birchbox due to being a student from UniDays so decided to re-subscribe to Birchbox for the month as their February box looked fab! If you don't know what Birchbox is, it is a monthly beauty subscription box where you receive 5/6 samples/full size products. It's a fun way to discover new products without paying the full price, try before you buy! This was the box this month and what was inside.

Inside my box I received a full size Spectrum Tapered Finishing brush, the Doux Me Comforting Scrub Mask, the Loc Shadow Stick in I think shade champagne, Number 4 Lumiere d'Hiver Super Comb Prep & Protect and the Cochine body lotion. I loved all of these products and thought that they were superb! I particularly love the Spectrum brush and will definitely be investing in the others that are available. The scrub mask lived up to its name and was definitely comforting and I've been wearing the bobble ever since I opened the box!

I would definitely reccommend signing up to Birchbox, and you can sign up at www.birchbox.co.uk, and if you're a member of UniDays you can get 50% of your first box!

New Favourite Brand Alert

I was lucky enough to be sent some PR samples from Seventeen last week, and felt the need to rave about these to all of you lovely lot! I was kindly sent the Long Lash mascara, Let's Face It palette and the Easy on the Eye palette.

The packaging of the products is beautiful, I love collecting the boxes of products as I am a self confessed hoarder! This is not helping my addiction Seventeen. The quality of the products surpasses the packaging however.

Seventeen Long Lash: I really loved using this mascara and would definitely re-purchase! It has a thing brush which means it is really easy to get to each individual lash and it doesn't clump which is always a bonus!

Seventeen Let's Face It: This is described as the 'complexion perfection selection' and I 100% agree. It features a pink and yellow toned concealer, but also a setting powder and a rosy pink blush. The concealers are great for colour correction, and I'm loving the rosy pink blush. It is perfect for the paler skinned peoples of the world.

And finally my favourite of the products, the Easy on the Eye palette: I love this palette! It features 8 matte, shimmer and pearl powders, 3 metallic creams and even an eye primer. The shadows are super pigmented and it has become my go to palette for a lovely pink rose gold eye look. It even comes with a how to guide for smoky eye and to top it all of a voucher for £2 of the Seventeen super lash mascara.

All of these products can be found on the Boots website or if you click their names I have linked you directly to the specific product! Have you tried Seventeen products? Feel free to leave any comments below.

Smashbox #shapematters Palette

Smashbox Palette

I'm writing a blog post after 7/8 months which is crazy. As I'm sure many people will know it has just recently been Christmas! I had such a brilliant Christmas and spent it with some amazing people. I also got some brilliant gifts and was absolutely spoilt! One of the gifts that I received was the Smashbox contouring palette. It looks like this:

Here is the palette unopened, it has a very sleek look.

I have never tried Smashbox products so I am excited to try it as it has had very high reviews which include Kim Kardashian (the contouring Queen) herself describing it as her favourite powder contour product. The palette includes two different shades of brow powders and a wax, two highlighters, one bronzer, one contour powder and nine different eyeshadows. It also includes a double ended brush, one side being for shadow and the other for brows. Photos to follow.

The shadows.
The angled brush for brows.

These are the contour shades and highlight.
The shadow side to the brush.
I apologise for the camera flash!

The palette is currently £60 on Boots online and can be found HERE! I will review the product once I have gotten round to using it and can provide swatches if people wish! If there are any cream contouring products that people use and think are worth the buy, please let me know in the comments below! Thanks for reading :)

Muji vs Osco

So, as my collection of makeup is ever expanding recently, I have been looking into investing into some acrylic drawers. In case you're wondering, I'm talking about the acrylic drawers which were first seen on the Kardashians and have seen been a hit with makeup hoarders.

However, I cannot decide between the Muji brand or the Osco brand. First I'll look at the Muji brand.

This is the 5 drawer Muji storage which retails at £24.99 plus postage, the drawer is described as

'A versatile box with five pull out drawers that can be used to store items such as make-up, stationery, haberdashery items and jewellery.Dimensions: W: 26cm x H: 16cm x D: 17.5cmInternal drawer height 2.5cmCo-ordinating jewellery trays are available to purchase separately.'

I love this style of drawers and think that the 5 drawers could hold a large amount of makeup however a part of me thinks that £24.99 is a large amount of money to pay for storage and would I actually fill the 5 drawers? This then led me on to researching an alternate brand, Osco. Osco do a selection of acrylic storage which can be found at stores such as Staples and Rymans, and also on Amazon and eBay for slightly cheaper. The drawers which I looked at from Osco were the 2 drawer.

This is the Osco drawer which retails at £11.99 and is described as 'This Osco 3 Drawer chest is ideal for storing business cards or stationery neatly and securely.

The Osco Acrylic 3 drawer desk top filing unit is ideal for the desktop for storing small items such as business cards. It has three draws.

Its accessible storage for students and those at home who wish to keep bills and stationery in an organised fashion.'

I love the Osco drawer which is a fraction of the Muji price, however it concerns me how small the Osco drawers are with them being described as only being 'H110xW165xD120mm'. This is a lot less storage than the Muji drawers and would therefore result in me most likely having to purchase two of the Osco drawers, making the total price of them being £23.98.

I am still looking into alternate acrylic storage but will most likely end up investing in the Muji drawers!

All comments are appreciated, would love to know if you have acrylic drawers and if so which ones. All links can be provided for the items mentioned.
