FEBRUARY BIRCHBOX 2016

I had a 50% code for Birchbox due to being a student from UniDays so decided to re-subscribe to Birchbox for the month as their February box looked fab! If you don't know what Birchbox is, it is a monthly beauty subscription box where you receive 5/6 samples/full size products. It's a fun way to discover new products without paying the full price, try before you buy! This was the box this month and what was inside.

Inside my box I received a full size Spectrum Tapered Finishing brush, the Doux Me Comforting Scrub Mask, the Loc Shadow Stick in I think shade champagne, Number 4 Lumiere d'Hiver Super Comb Prep & Protect and the Cochine body lotion. I loved all of these products and thought that they were superb! I particularly love the Spectrum brush and will definitely be investing in the others that are available. The scrub mask lived up to its name and was definitely comforting and I've been wearing the bobble ever since I opened the box!

I would definitely reccommend signing up to Birchbox, and you can sign up at www.birchbox.co.uk, and if you're a member of UniDays you can get 50% of your first box!

Meadowhall Haul

So last Friday I went to Meadowhall, which is in Sheffield, as a late celebration for my sister's birthday. I saved some of my Christmas money so I could treat myself when we went.

Because I don't live near a Mac counter I always try and make sure to visit it when I go to Meadowhall! I picked up a bronzer which was £24.00, it doesn't look as orange as it does on the picture in real, I promise.

I really wanted a diary for this year to jot down my daily thoughts and tasks that I need to do and I found this one in Paperchase. It had 20% of which made it around £8.50.

Next, I went to Superdrug. I really wanted a new drugstore foundation so decided to try the Rimmel red topped one, there was a deal on Rimmel which was buy one product get the next half price so I also decided to try the Rimmel gel liner as I already have the Mac fluidline but want a cheaper alternative. I also bought my favourite conditioner and some Blistex repair cream as the Winter hates my lips.

I next went to New Look, I really wanted a new handbag and spotted this one so took the plunge and bought it! They also had an offer where it was 20% of jeans so I felt compelled to buy a pair. I also bought this long sleeved top for the coming Spring months.

And finally I visited Boots. I purchased a new hairbrush to blow dry my hair, my favourite shampoo which is the Bleach London Silver Shampoo because I have highlights which this helps maintain and I was recommended by a MUA to buy the Boots time delay cream. I've never really thought about anti-ageing creams with only being 19 but the best thing is to start young so I have!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, I will be doing some more in-depth reviews of the products that I bought. Feel free to leave any comments :)

New Favourite Brand Alert

I was lucky enough to be sent some PR samples from Seventeen last week, and felt the need to rave about these to all of you lovely lot! I was kindly sent the Long Lash mascara, Let's Face It palette and the Easy on the Eye palette.

The packaging of the products is beautiful, I love collecting the boxes of products as I am a self confessed hoarder! This is not helping my addiction Seventeen. The quality of the products surpasses the packaging however.

Seventeen Long Lash: I really loved using this mascara and would definitely re-purchase! It has a thing brush which means it is really easy to get to each individual lash and it doesn't clump which is always a bonus!

Seventeen Let's Face It: This is described as the 'complexion perfection selection' and I 100% agree. It features a pink and yellow toned concealer, but also a setting powder and a rosy pink blush. The concealers are great for colour correction, and I'm loving the rosy pink blush. It is perfect for the paler skinned peoples of the world.

And finally my favourite of the products, the Easy on the Eye palette: I love this palette! It features 8 matte, shimmer and pearl powders, 3 metallic creams and even an eye primer. The shadows are super pigmented and it has become my go to palette for a lovely pink rose gold eye look. It even comes with a how to guide for smoky eye and to top it all of a voucher for £2 of the Seventeen super lash mascara.

All of these products can be found on the Boots website or if you click their names I have linked you directly to the specific product! Have you tried Seventeen products? Feel free to leave any comments below.

BEST MAC LIPSTICKS FOR FAIR SKIN

Best Mac Lipsticks for Fair Skin

So today I'm feeling super productive! I've been to the gym this afternoon, tidied and de-cluttered my room and now I'm writing a blog post, I'm basically super woman. But coming back to this post, this post will focus on what I think are some good shades in Mac lipsticks for people with fair/pale skin. If you don't live near a Mac counter (like me when I'm not at uni) it can be quite difficult to know which shade to choose so I've put together all the different shades I feel compliment fair skin!

I'm going to be focusing on seven different lipsticks.

Swatch from left to right: Lovelorn, Please Me, Plumful, New York Apple, Twig, Rebel, Girl About Town

PLEASE ME:- This is very similar to Lovelorn, it is however a matte finish and can be drying on the lips. However, it is a lovely pink nude shade. It is a bit more longer lasting and has a stronger colour I feel.

LOVELORN:- This is a lovely nude pink shade, in a lustre finish. It is perfect for just a simple daytime look and is the perfect 'your lips but better' shade.

PLUMFUL:- I love Plumful! It is a lustre finish, and is a lovely off red ish shade which I would personally wear for a day to night look as I feel red is more of a night time colour. Lovely lipstick but colour could be slightly brighter.

NEW YORK APPLE:- This is the only lipstick of which I own in a Frost finish. I personally think this lipstick would have been better in a matte shade HOWEVER I love this lipstick and is the perfect red shade for fair skin as it is not too bold.

TWIG:- A lovely Satin finish lipstick that resembles the famous Velvet Teddy. I wear this with the Spice lip liner and it is a lovely brown shade and is perfect for a daytime look. Overall, a lovely lipstick which is slightly out of my comfort zone but I still love it.

REBEL:- Another satin finish lipstick that is perfect for Autumn/Winter. I have only wore this lipstick once as finding the occasion for it is difficult! It is a lovely statement lip and doesn't dry my lips.

GIRL ABOUT TOWN:- I have definitely saved the best until last here.... I absolutely love this lipstick. It was one of the first Mac lipsticks I have ever purchased and I'm still in love. It is very bright but is very flattering on fair skin. This is my go to night time lipstick shade for a girls night out. Absolutely LOVE.

Three occasions of me wearing Girl About Town... that is maybe why I've used half of the lipstick within months.

As usual, feel free to leave any comments and also thank you for 100 followers on Bloglovin!

Benefit Get Your Party On Tin

Benefit 'Get Your Party On!' Tin Review

Another Christmas gift that I received and will be reviewing is the Benefit tin which is named 'Get Your Party On!', it retails at £39.50 but is on sale now for just under £30. The tin looks like this:

The tin includes four full size Benefit products which include the following:

The 'they're real!' mascara, which retails at £19.50 and can be found HERE! on the Benefit website.
'Hoola' bronzer, rated the UK's no1 bestselling bronzer! It retails at £23.50 and can be found HERE! on the Benefit website.
Highlighter high beam, which retails at £19.50 and can be found HERE! on the Benefit website.
A full size 'gimme brow' which is a setting gel for brows. This retails normally at £18.50 and can be found HERE! on the Benefit website.
The tin is great value for money, and is worth a massive £81, but retails at £39! It features some of the Benefit favourites and I will now review them individually.

'They're Real!'- I really like this mascara and have had many minis of it in different sets that I have bought over the years. I can't agree that it does make your lashes look long enough to be mistaken for fake lashes however I do have very short fair coloured lashes so this could be why! I use a coat of this and then go over it with a chunky (strange word I'm aware) Rimmel mascara. Overall, it is a lovely product however it is very expensive for a mascara.

'Hoola' Bronzer- I love this bronzer! It is such a lovely colour, if you have fair skin like me. It can be used in several different ways, for contouring or just for a natural bronze look. It even includes a small brush which is useful for contouring. Overall, it is a good product and I can see why it is so highly rated!

'High Beam' highlighter- I currently use this for highlighting underneath my brows as my high brow has ran out! It is a lovely product but I probably wouldn't use it on the top of my cheekbones as it is very sparkly and I prefer a powder highlight so I can build the highlight up. I currently use a Mac one, but have used an MUA one in the past, and the effect is very similar. Overall, I like the product and would recommend it for the price.

'Gimme Brow'- This is one of the first Benefit products that I ever purchased and I love it. I have fairly unruly eyebrows and this really gives them that finished arched look I feel. It stays on all day and is a brilliant product! Overall, I would highly recommend this as a brow set.

The tin is great value for money and features some highly recommended Benefit products, it's just a shame it's only a Christmas product! Thanks for reading, feel free to leave any comments :)
